GfL gets the tender for a safety assessment for the missing/non-ICAO compliant Runway End Safety Area (RESA) at Mannheim City Airport

The Regional Administrative Authority of Karlsruhe, which is the responsible approving authority, has tasked GfL to assess the impact on flight safety due to a missing/non-ICAO compliant RESA at Mannheim City Airport. According to national and international regulations every runway must feature a RESA to ensure safe operations. The safety assessment will point out whether safe and regular flight operations can be maintained without a RESA, especially with the planned resumption of scheduled flights.
