GfL examines options for restricted areas reduction of precision runways at Graz Airport

September 2012 | Safety Assessment

For the protection of precision approach under particular conditions as well as the protection of people in the vicinity of the runway in Austria stricter requirements for obstacle clearance as the ICAO, EASA and the German legislation (NOTAM) are be effective. GfL was commissioned to examine the requirements of restricted areas expansion based on quantitative risk analysis. Here methods for track guidance accuracy and our validated algorithms to external risk will be applied. For external risk calculation GfL also holds software solutions (see: External Risk Calculator).
