Leipzig/Halle Airport commissions GfL with updating its airport master plan

October 2019 | Airport Planning

As part of the expansion and development measures at Leipzig/Halle Airport, GfL was asked by Flughafen Leipzig/Halle GmbH (FLHG) to update the corresponding master plan documents accordingly. Based on the 2040 planning horizon, the previous traffic forecast is initially updated, particularly with regard to flight movements, freight volumes and passengers. A further component is the updating of the terminal facilities and the airside infrastructure. Secondary airport facilities (e.g. areas for aircraft handling, maintenance and de-icing) and other planning elements (e.g. development areas, public transport facilities, service roads and gates, etc.) are also taken into account. The results are expected in spring 2020.
