Aeronautical Study for the Coburg airfield - Flight safety assessment of the penetration of obstacle boundary areas within the framework of the planned new building at the Meeder-Neida site

October 2015 | Safety Assessment

At the Meeder-Neida site northwest of Coburg, the new airfield business aviation is to be built. Within the framework of an upstream regional planning procedure, this location was found to be suitable. However, there are penetrations of standardised obstacle boundary surfaces if the airfield is to be built as planned. GfL was commissioned by the Projektgesellschaft Verkehrslandeplatz Coburg mbH (PGVC) to examine the compatibility of these penetrations with safe flight operations at this location and, if necessary, to develop suitable risk reduction measures. In this project, we apply our detailed safety assessment procedure for obstacle surface injuries at airports, which has now been published internationally. See also: Paper Download
