Rescue and fire fighting services: Development of an EASA-compliant training concept for Saarbrücken airport

February 2020 | Certification

After carrying out a analysis of the rescue and fire fighting services (RFFS) at Saarbrücken Airport for EASA conformity (see news entry), GfL has now been commissioned by the airport operator Flug-Hafen-Saarland GmbH to carry out detailed analyses regarding the local RFFS structures. The focus here is on the requirements for training and proficiency check programs according to EU/EASA guidelines (primarily ADR.OR.D.017). This includes in particular general requirements for formal training aspects (e.g. forms of implementation, time intervals, documentation requirements, etc.) as well as the contents of training courses and syllabi. In the context of the special requirements profile of RFFS, these are further specified in the guidelines chapter ADR.OPS.B.010. The overall project objective is to create an EASA-compliant training concept for RFFS at Saarbrücken Airport. First results are expected at the beginning of the 2nd quarter 2020.
