Leipzig/Halle Airport: EASA Conformity Assessment - Construction of Extended Apron Area

At Leipzig/Halle Airport, the construction of an additional apron area east of Apron 2 including service road took place between February and September 2021. GfL was commissioned to check the design plans as well as continuously the execution plans with regard to the specific guidelines of EASA (see News Civil Engineering Works Apron LEJ). After completion of the construction project, an on-site inspection of all criteria related to markings for EASA conformity was carried out. This work has now been successfully completed: Following the issuance of an operating permit for the new construction area by the state aviation authority, it was put into operation. Now the airport can operate with an increased number of parking spaces.
